Open this PRESSED LOGO MOCKUP file in Adobe Photoshop and I am using Adobe Photoshop 2017 creative cloud version. You can see that there are three layers in the photoshop file of the PRESSED LOGO MOCKUP. The first file is your smart object. Here you will place your design to get your display of the the design. The second layer is about the effects that are been applied to the 3D logo mockup. As you can see the emboss effect and the shadow and we will see this in detail later on. The last folder is for the background.
START WITH SMART OBJECT
Coming to the first layer that is smart object. As you can see in the picture. If I double click on the smart object there will be a new file in Adobe Photoshop. The new file contains one layer that has the flat design of the logo. And this is where you will replace your design.
IMPORTING DESIGN TO THE PRESSED LOGO MOCKUP
You can import your design in PNG format. That has no background to it and contains only the design of the logo. To import the design you can go to file menu and place linked or place embedded. Make sure you or not placing any JPG file.
SAVING THE SMART OBJECT
And when you have placed the design file you will have to delete the previous layer. Or at least make the visibility off. So that only your design can be updated on the main file of the PRESSED LOGO MOCKUP.
To update your design you must save this file. And you can do this by pressing control + s. Otherwise you can go to file menu and click on save.
LOGO UPDATED
As this file is not heavy so it is not taking long time to update the file. Now you can see your design in the main file. And all the embossing effects and the Shadows effect and the blur effect has been applied. Which has completely changed your design and its looking great. From here you can just save this as a JPEG or PNG and send it to your client. Or use it for your own self. Actually there is no need to dig more in to this PRESSED LOGO MOCKUP file.
CHANGES TO THE EFFECTS
But if you want to make some changes to the display image; you can play with the folders in the PRESSED LOGO MOCKUP file. And the first one is the effect folder. In the effect folder there are three layers. The first layer is for the soft light that is applied to the top right corner of the display file.
LAYERMASK TO THE LAYER IN PHOTOSHOP
The second file is the main logo file and if you turn this off you will not be able to see the mockup of your flat design. On this file you can see one thing that has design effect layer mask. And the next thing is the effect panel.
BLENDING EFFECTS OF LOGO MOCKUP
There were five different effects applied to this layer. And on the top of the list is the bevel and emboss. The second is the inner shadow. The third one is the gradient overlay. The fourth in the list is the drop shadow. And the fifth is the Gaussian blur.
You can simply turn off the visibility of any of these affected to see what happens to you design. And whatever you like you can save it as it is in the PRESSED LOGO MOCKUP.
SHADOW LAYER ADJUSTMENT PHOTOSHOP
the next layer named shadow and that is the bottom left most corner which is most affected by this layer. The last layer is for the background. And here is a textured background but it’s not necessary to keep this file as it is in this PRESSED LOGO MOCKUP.
You can change this with any of your image and it will look good.
